Funding solutions for SMEs

Haulage Finance

These are complex and difficult times for the haulage industry.

That said, the huge upheavals and complications raised by issues such as Covid-19 and Brexit also offer opportunities for expansion and growth. There are, of course, massive cash-flow implications associated with expansion, and in the majority of cases external funding, from whatever sources, is required.

Here at HGV Finance, we offer funding solutions for the haulage industry, off the back of more than 20 years experience sourcing funding for businesses of all types throughout the UK. You can see some of our testimonials here. We are specialists in finding funding solutions for the haulage industry having direct access to various top-tier funders and specialist lenders. As an ethical, independent company we are able to keep our costs low and can offer extremely good finance packages for haulage firms. We can source almost any form of business finance for any UK and Channel Island haulage business, including traditional, alternative, peer to peer and fin-tech solutions, all with our usual high level of customer service. We pride ourselves on having great experience within the sector and work diligently and transparently to find the right funding solution for the client. All funds are ethically sourced and in normal circumstances, there is NO charge to you for our services as we are paid by the lender.

Our funding solutions are ideal for owners and/or operators of:

  • HGVs
  • LGVs
  • Motorcycle and van couriers
  • Heavy Haulage
  • SGTOs (Special Goods)

Common reasons for raising funding include:

  • Fleet expansion/replacement
  • Premises
  • Increase in workforce/staff
  • Hardware or software systems

Two of the most common (but not only) solutions in raising finance in the HGV sector are ‘asset’ and ‘invoice’ finance:

Asset Finance
This is a simple and flexible way to finance the critical assets that make a valuable contribution to the performance of your business, such as tractor units, trailers, specialist equipment, plant, machinery and software. It also allows you to release cash from the value locked into the assets you already own. Typical forms of this finance include hire purchase, refinance/capital releases, finance leases and operating leases.

Invoice Finance
Invoice Finance provides working capital and releases cash tied up in your unpaid invoices – typically up to 90% of the invoice value (including VAT) – on the day the invoice is raised. Thus, it provides a cash injection from day one and there is no waiting for the customer to pay when they see fit or after 60 days or similar. Our invoice finance funders can also provide optional credit control to chase slow-paying customers.

Remember you are the expert at your business, you cannot be expected to be the expert in every field, particularly one as complex as business funding. It is always advisable to contact people who have experience in this area who will be able to find the best results and terms for your particular, individual requirements. This is where we come in at HGV Finance
